Every year since 1964, CBS or other networks have played the perennial favorite “A Charlie Brown Christmas.” It’s a gentle story about the quirky friends in a grade school putting on a Christmas show, finding the true meaning of Christmas and its importance to all of our lives. And in spite of CBS TV’s opposition to putting on a show with a jazz score and child actors who could barely read their lines, the program continues to be shown and seen for what it is: a classic. Vince Guaraldi was the man who wrote and composed the music. Vince was a jazz pianist with a lyrical approach to his playing and his world of composition. This song (“Christmas Time Is Here”) expresses the warmth we feel at this time of the year with a nostalgia full of Christmas memories.
