The Benny Goodman Sextet Play "Benny's Bugle"

Posted about 2 years ago

The Bop influence is everwhere evident in "Benny's Bugle" which Charlie Christian is once again the dominant force in this hard driving opus composed by Count Basie and Benny Goodman. Everyone has a chance to take a solo. Heard on this recording are Benny Goodman on clarinet, Cootie Williams on trumpet, George Auld on tenor sax, guitarist Charlie Christian, Arthur Bernstein on bass and Harry Jaeger on drums. The groove is very infectious with Benny taking the final ride out chorus in a heated mood.
