Bing Crosby (1903 - 1977) was one of the living legends in the entertainment world. He was the host of a long running radio music variety series (1931 - 1962) as well as being the most frequently recorded voice in the history of the recording industry. In 1962, Crosby was the first recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award of the Grammy Awards. Crosby was also known for his yearly Christmas specials which were always ratings busters in their day on tv. Crosby’s style improved with age, going all the way from the crooner of the 1930's to the serious jazz artist of later years. Here he is from 1955 singing “My Blue Heaven,” written in 1927 by George Whiting (lyrics) and Walter Donaldson (music).
