The Mills Brothers Sing "Moonglow"

Posted about 1 year ago
“Moonglow” is one of the greatest of all love songs, best remembered for its use as a dance instrumental in the 1956 film “Picnic” starring William Holden and a gorgeous Kim Novak. The song was written in 1934 by co-bandleaders Will Hudson and Eddie DeLange along with Irving Mills (no relation to the Mills brothers). This is one of many examples of just how sensitive The Mills Brothers could be with a lyric. It’s tender and very soft edged yet has a very jazz influenced flavor. One of the features of the Mills’ are their imitations of a warm brass section, something which they did better than anyone else.
