Track:Smoke Gets In Your Eyes/Someone to Watch Over Me
In the early years of his career, Bud Shank doubled on flute which had just as much success as he did on sax. By early 1982, Shank stopped playing the flute and concentrated instead on his alto sax where his fluid, imaginative and angular, daring solos became his trademark for the rest of his life.

Well now. just a bit too..............
DMDM,
Too sweet? Oh well, it's a good performance. One thing for sure, this is a bit unusual for Bud Shank although he did record off and on for symphonic styled units such as The Metropole Orchestra. And of course, if you remember how he looked in the early 1980's, he would visit the Tonight Show Band and sit in with the group which had his fellow Stan Kenton alumni Bob Cooper (husband of June Christie) and Bill Perkins as well as Pete Candoli. Ye Gads, what a band that was!
Yours truly,
