Today, Kathleen Battle continues to be a lively recitalist, performing on the concert playtform where she is at home and at peace. From a 1985 performance in Vienna, she sings a ravishing rendition of Richard Strauss' lieder (German art song) "Allerseehlen" accompanied by her mentor James Levine at the piano.

This is one of my favorite performances. The ballance betweeen Battle and James Levine is letter perfect. Levine's accompaniment compliments Battle's soaring voice in a very gently supportive way. Very beautiful and touching. Thanks for the review my friend!
