Track:Ways to Love A Man
One of the biggest surprises of the Nashville Sound era in the 1960's was an album that became a big seller for chanteuse Vikki Carr--"Nashville By Carr," recorded at RCA's Nashville studios in 1968 using a contingent of Nashville and Hollywood sessions players with the strings and horns arranged and conducted by a blind jazz musician named Julian Lee (who has since become a leading exponent of writing music in Braille). When EMI re-released this album and "Ways to Love a Man" in a re-mastered recording, the evidence more than proved that Vikki Carr could truly sing everything and anything from pop standards to the newest of the new tunes and country as well, more convincingly than any other person alive. When Carr came to Nashville, she literally charmed everyone with her good looks and sparkling personality (traits she has retained all of her professional life). The sessions, though arduous, resulted in a gold mine of performances that have with stood the test of time. In this video montage, we hear two songs, the main one being "Ways To Love A Man."

I love this song and no one does it better than Vikki.
Thanks for the post.
Dear txboots,
Thanks for the note and hi back atcha! The funny thing is, I can't think of anybody else singing this song any better. For some reason, Vikki always has a good habit of making a song sound like a million dollars and better than the original. Maybe it's just me--however, this is a great recording!
Yours truly,
