Track:Don't Worry About Me
One of the sure fire encores of Marty Robbins was "Don't Worry About Me" which has an interesting story. The original guitarist at those sessions was Grady Martin who accidently created the fuzz effect on his guitar by not correctly plugging in his guitar to the console. The effect was left in on the final version of the recording and the "fuzz" effect became the song's key attraction.
Marty Robbins' ability as a song writer was well-known both to his fans and to the music industry at large. Robbins was inducted in 1975 to the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame and received a posthumous Grammy Award in 1998 for his song "El Paso."

His voice was still in good form in this video, but he looks as if he prefers clowning to expressing the lyrics' message, which I probably would do if I had sung it as many times as he had.
Spike,
This was part of how Marty Robbins would entertain people in the audience. He was a very powerful performer whose personality comes over very well even after all these years. It may seem like a Las Vegas style, but then nobody could do it like Marty. My friends say that this fuin loving quality was exactly how the man would act with his fans--laughing it up and having a good time with his admirers.
Thanks for the post!
Yours truly,
