Rosemary Clooney Sings "How Will I Remember You?"

Posted about 1 year ago
  • Artist:
    Rosemary Clooney/Nelson Riddle
  • Album:
    Love
  • Track:
    How Will I Remember You?
Of all of the songs on the “Love” album, this one sums up the depth of the Clooney/Riddle relationship. With words by Carl Sigman and music by Walter Gross, this was revived as a tribute song by Clooney in 1994. Nelson Riddle’s arrangement here has a stark beauty full of memories and longings that is heartbreakingly in the extreme, almost like reaching for something that is no longer possible.

  2. musikfriend says runobodyii: "Love" is something of a beauitfully done album. The huge orchestra required (about 65 pieces) means its doesn't swing too much. It probably mirrored what was happening in the lives of both Rosie and Riddle. It has its lighter moments but the majority of the songs are like this. It's regarded as a masterpiece and was never heard from after 1963 when it first appeared until about 1995 when Reprise re-issued it. Sales now went clear through the roof. Hope this answers your question! Yours truly, musikfriend
