Track:

Fats Domino had a gigantic hit which was as large as the man himself with "Kansas City" which became one of his signature songs. It was written in 1959 by lyricist Mike Stoller and composer Jerry Leiber. Gerald Wilson writes a hard driving chart that is pulsating and vital like the city itself. Trumpeter Al Hirt plays with a hard driving intensity backed by dissonant sax responses along with brass laden fillers that propel the arrangement along with a blazing, burning intensity that is hard to resist.

It sounds great. I just did a little research and learned that Leiber & Stoller wrote for Little Willie Littlefield in 1953; Wilbert Harrison had the first and biggest big hit with it in 1959, and Fats Domino recorded it in 1964.
Spike,
Thank you for keeping me honest! All information concerning this song has indicated that Fats Domino was the only one who recorded this song which you've just exploded! So thank you for educating me!
