This aria from Charles Gounod’s obscure opera “Mireille” has all of the signs of a show stopper. Brilliant runs and other acrobatics are here kept at a minimum but Beverly Sills (who was suffering from a cold at these recording sessions) bravely goes in and turns in a true show stopper!
