Paul Desmond Plays "Samba Cantina"

Posted over 4 years ago
After a brief intro by Jim Hall on guitar, we hear a desolate samba written and played by Paul Desmond with solid rhythm patterns by drummer Connie Kay and bassist Gene Wright (Desmond’s bandmate in the original Dave Brubeck Quartet). Jim Hall also gets to show us why he is such a special performer in one of his classic performances.

  2. Hermes says I'm in this very moment listening to this album and it's fantastic. Not that I would be a specialist for samba - far away from that. But it's incredible, how this music draws all stress out of my mind and just floats in the air. Incredible.
