A year after Bing Crosby enjoyed his success with “White Christmas,†he began performing another song which tugged on the nation’s heart strings. In 1943, Walter Kent, Kim Gannon and Buck Ram wrote a song which identifies perfectly with the extreme longings men in the armed forces feel wherever they may be at the time. In this recording, Vikki Carr turns the sadness and brightens her interpretation of the lyrics with a more determined effort. I will be home for Christmas she proclaims. This gives us a more optimistic viewpoint for the season!
