Seems like I've heard Voxtrot's name dropped for several years now, and here they are finally releasing a full LP. They've already gone through buzz, backlash, and even a sort of obscurity oddly enough. However, the debut pays off big time. See below for an example.
It's amazing when you meet a girl a couple times drunkenly and realize it's not just a fluke, and there's a soundtrack waiting for you when you get home, giddy as a schoolgirl. Candy Bars provided that soundtrack for me tonight.
Well, helloooooooo everyone. There's this weird feeling of obligation that I have with this first post, as if I'm under pressure to say something so unique and groundbreaking so that the Mog-o-sphere will stand up and be interested in just another person becoming a part of this awesome community.
Ah, whatever. This is just my first post, only a few hours after discovering this amazing thing through a friend. Now I have yet another outlet for expressing my musical opinions and another resource for learning from others'. I hope to do this for the rest of my life. Not Mogging/blogging/shouting my opinions out into the depths of the internets, but write about music for the rest of my life. I'm a journalism major going into my last year and a half of college and I just drool over the hope that someday I might be able to talk to Ben Gibbard, Colin Meloy, Isaac Brock, whoever at the drop of a hat, then write about it and, more importantly, have people read it and want to read it. So, for now, Mogging is the next best thing.
