In February, I posted a k-os video for the song 4 3 2 1 — a response to his friend Feist’s 1, 2, 3, 4 — and mentioned the album it comes from, Yes!, would be released in March. But no, Yes! didn’t come out in March.Instead, it’ll be released on Tuesday in the U.S. [...]

k-os – I Wish I Knew Natalie PortmanTo start off my time here at B&B, I’m putting up a post about what I and others from Toronto believe to be one of the best songs to come out of our city this year. I Wish I Knew Natalie Portman (a song which has nothing to [...]

We haven't been doing as many interviews as we'd like to here on the hill in recent months, but it's mainly due to the fact that time is in short supply around hill headquarters these days. But that said, if someone is willing to answer a few questions, e-mail style, then like playing the lotto, we're in it to win it. When that someone is a friend of mine (oh, you thought I might get tired of...

Anyone who can talk about onomatopoeias, schizophrenia, biblical references, exploitation, all weaved into the same song (see Love Song below)-while still retaining an impression of being humble and yet wise- is someone worth listening to, if not advice from.A rapper MC of Trinidadian descent but raised in Canada- he's rap royalty in Canada, is about to spread some "Good Vibrations" in Oz, has...

Atlantis: Hymns for Disco is K-Os’ 3rd album, following suit after his last release, Joyful Rebellion of 2004, and Exit of two years prior, this record is outstanding music in it’s purest form. I could do what a normally do and cut through this record song by song, but given the subject, and how hard it is to separate the music from the musician, I’ll instead treat the album and artist as on

The lyrics to the chorus of this song are not only ridiculously repeatable, they are ripe with metaphorical genius:"Every day is Saturday night, but I can't wait for Sunday morning."First, there's the obvious - the reference to religion. The fact that every day is Saturday night implies that religion (Sunday morning) is always put off until the next day, etc. However, Sunday morning refers not ...

Album:Atlantis - Hymns for The Disco
K-os, one my favorite hip hop rappers around right now, slipped my mind once again and he has a new album out called "Atlantis - Hymns for a Disco". His 1st CD "exit" is exceptional, great positive hip/hop meets soul and reggae. "Joyful Rebellion",well it's hit and miss. A lot more poppy, jazzy some of the rhymes are weak....but whatever.Listening to this album (1min tracks off his website) ...

Pesky flies getting you down? Try new Super-Sonic Fly Paper. "It's Catchy, and it's *POP*"I love this song. Many in the Hip-hop world may dismiss this type of music, but you know what? It's fucking fun, and that's what matters to me. And K-os also has ties to Broken Social Scene, so, um, that's really cool, and he won a bunch of awards up in Canananananada. So , it's late and my brain's no...

Here is some more new K-OS from the upcoming album which I think is titled Yes . Someone correct me if I'm wrong. K-OS is a wild dude so you can expect a little bit of everything on his album. This song is nuts. Not sure if that's a good or a bad thing yet. Might need to give this one a few more listens before making up my mind. Check it out. K-OS - Astronaut PigeonsandPlanes
