... fucking move! Bloody hell... And luckily they did after the first song. But this was the most timid start to a Blood Red Shoes gig I've ever been to. The two times I saw them (Bush Hall and Small Hall Paradiso) the crowd went bananas after the first chords of opener "It's Getting Boring By The Sea", and surely, that song has the opening spot to get the crowd involved from the get go. Not so in Utrecht, in the small venue Ekko, where people stood still as if it was a ... MORE

Steven Ansell appears to be a lot easier to find than Waldo. During their gig at Bush Hall he stood right in front of me, and during the London Calling festival he was there both days, and I saw him standing in the hall, in the audience when Los Campesinos was playing, and he and Laura-Mary did a huge soundcheck for the eager crowd who wanted to make sure that they had a place in the small room. That they have to miss Reverend and the Makers for that, well, it is an offer a l... MORE

On the Wednesday, it was time for me to go to Shepherds Bush, to a small venue called Bush Hall. I like small venues, but not so shabby that they don't even have a cloak room, which was kind of annoying since I was there with a pretty big bag. Anyway, first up, Tinseltown. Their singer has a distinctive voice, and you can't help but to be drawn to her. The rest of the band seemed pretty much replacable. They have to step it up in the instrumental area to take the next st... MORE

We were lucky enough to catch these guys' first 2 US shows. May there be many, many more. Looks like they've found a good home on V2!
Here is the video for "You Bring Me Down" because everyone and their mum is posting the new one. I get a kick out of this particular track.... MORE

" Blood Red Shoes are a two-person rock band from Brighton, England.
Consisting of Steven Ansell (vocals and drums) and Laura-Mary Carter (vocals and guitar), they formed in 2005 after their previous bands (Cat On Form and Lady Muck respectively) had broken up and they decided to "have a jam". Their name comes from the story that Ginger Rogers had to re-do a tap dance scene so many times that the camera man asked whether she'd changed out of her white shoes into some red... MORE

Oh I just wanted to post sumthin. Oh this internet makes me a bit hyphy. Feel like everyone can see and know everything bout me.
You know the several websites like myspace, flickr, mog, studivz/schuelervz, ... ... endless. Nameless? Disturbing. I like the ad I posted very much. I've found it in a polish magazine. That's all. I'm not so into posting stuff. Who the hell might be curious bout that? Greeting, TheMone with the so-called $.... MORE

Heard about Blood Red Shoes today. Can't really make my mind up about them, but they remind me of The Kills a bit, which is cool. Take a listen for yourself (via the Shop page, but dont worry, its free) and see what you think.... MORE
