So here's the story. SOmehow in decmeber i hear dof the new show From the Basement that was created by the legendary produce of Radiohead and others, Nigel Goodrich.
I looked at the list of artists and realized i hadn't heard of half of them (mostly european) but the half I DID recognize were amongst my favorite artists ever. As it happens I'v epretty much fallen in love with all the artists I hadn't heard before.
Unfortunately, I was only able to discover a few... MORE

I have a strange fascination for mandalas and soft voices.
This is Jose Gonzales remixed by Zero 7 . A beautiful song and a beautiful video. Hopefully the bright colors and nice sounds will make each one of warm at least on the inside.

Tina has her own career, but did a brilliant tour with Zero 7 a few years ago after they recorded the "When It Falls" album. She does solo versions of "Home" now, accompanying herself on acoustic guitar, that are very affecting. There are several on YouTube. She is one of Denmark's famous musicians (she goes by her given name, Tina Dickow, there), and seems very in charge of her own career. Her web site, (http://www.tinadico.com) is one of the best artist self-promo... MORE

"It's never gonna be
Normal, you and me
What you're signing on for
Is a storm at sea So if you think you're tough
Give me all your love
And I'll give you every little piece of me Catch a falling star you'll go far
In the pageant of the bizarre
And tonight I give you my heart Catch a falling star you'll go far
In the pageant of the bizarre
And tonight I give you my heart We will never be a nuclear family
But a rainbow will begin at our feet
And i... MORE

"Wait in line
'Till your time
Ticking clock
Everyone stop Everyone's saying different things to me
Different things to me
Everyone's saying different things to me
Different things to me Woooohh
Do you believe
In what you see
There doesn't seem to be anybody else who agrees with me Do you believe
In what you see
Motionless wheel
Nothing is real
Wasting my time
In the waiting line
Do you believe in
What you see Nine to five
Living lies

I used to wet the bed. My pea-sized bladder was so full I'd awaken and quickly throw off the covers and clamber quickly out of bed. I'd feel the thick threads of the rug on my bare feet, and the little shock of static as I opened my bedroom door. In the moonlight, I'd pull up the porcelain toilet seat (cool on my fingers), and pee, the stream hitting the water loudly in the dead-silent house, parents and brother asleep in rooms down the hall. Finished, I'd start to fall aslee... MORE

This is exactly the kind of song I can't stop listening. Usually, I don't listen that much to Zero 7 (I easily prefer Morcheeba, hehe) but I must admit that this song is really fascinating. This kind of lazy ejazz is really cool. I really wonder why they're not as genious as on this track on the rest of their albums.
WELL . Just get stoned and listen to this.... MORE

Whenever I muse upon the ideal sonic backdrop for boudoir play (as in, doing the horizontal mambo, making the beast with two backs, gettin’ it on, etc.), my mind wanders back to the most incredibly erotic sex scene in the David Bowie-Catherine Deneuve horror film “The Hunger” -- the vampire lesbian-on-vampire lesbian action that, um, goes down to the elegant, angelic strains of “The Flower Duet” from Delibes’ opera “Lakme.” I don’t believe that I’ve ever actually made lo... So I'm debating about spending my hard earned money on going to this show. It's in DC which is a pain in the ass but I love going down there. I also adore Zero 7 but I've never been to an electronica show and I wonder how the live experience would be. It's also really low-key music and usually I go to see chill bands at outside amphitheaters where you can just sit on the grass and take it all in - 9:30 is not at all like that. Anyone have some input on electronica/chill b... MORE

Jose Gonzales and Zero 7 at the Fillmore last night: The first thing I saw on stage was the Moog, so I knew it was going to be a fun night. It was 1994 last night at the Fillmore: that's 07 minus the funk electronic "2001" ish they were playing. Sia Furler's voice is explosive...Bjork on uppers if you need a comparison--and the show was just smokin. They really have their own sound, and Jose Gonzalez sat in on a bunch of tunes. The guys in the band are so freakin talente... MORE
