Please do not think of Blink-182. Today's entry in my series of song duels (What song does hearing some expression trigger in one's mind?) pits Muse's explosive approach to the topic of Stockholm Syndrome against Yo La Tengo's more fretful one.

I am about to make my first foray into Yo La Tengo. Yo La Tengo have long been a band whose music I have been meaning to check out, and just never gotten around to. So, I finally got my hands on "I Can Hear the Heart Beating As One", hoping it's a good place to start.
I'm working almost every single day this week, and as slow as we've been lately, I doubt I'll be doing much else for those 8 hours a day other than screwing around on here. And, you know, other places. Insert shifty eyes look here. I have this tic where I'm basically incapable of listening to Yo La Tengo without listening to the Flaming Lips immediately afterwards, and vice versa. I can't explain it, but earlier I had a sort of "all systems have gone haywire" moment i... MORE
It's silly but it makes me feel better. "If you want to write rock lyrics...you must learn about where the hobbits dwell." Hahaha. Yeah, it's true.
Because today's main bit of work involves editing several incredibly gruesome consultant-written articles, I've been Mogging like a Moggerfooker this afternoon in order to deaden the pain.
