I used to have a Yes box set, I gave it to a friend for his birthday. I thought it would be cool for a band to be called "No" and play all the songs backwards verbatim. I think it would be cool.

Prog rockers Yes (in the wake of Jon Anderson's illness and the subsequent cancellation of this summer's planned U.S. tour) have gone the Journey route and selected a tribute band singer to replace its iconic frontman. He's Benoit David from the Canadian Yes tribute band Close to the Edge. (www.ctte.net ).
Chris Squire, Steve Howe and Alan White are arranging a new line-up of Yes with Oliver Wakeman (keys) and David on vocals. The band plan to tour North Am... MORE

Yes frontman Jon Anderson says he is both "disappointed and very disrespected" that his band is going on tour with a replacement singer. In a statement at his official website, Anderson has slammed the forthcoming Yes reunion (minus himself and Rick Wakeman). He says he is "Disappointed that, with the exception of one phone call from Alan, none of the guys have been in touch since my illness, just to find out how I am doing, and how we will foresee the future for YES.... Sweet dreams can solve the future,
Sweet dreams provide the past.
Sweet things within your makeup;
These things will always last,
These things will make
Sweet dreams of conversation,
Sweet dreams of love affection.
Sweet words within your makeup;
Sweet words of things to
Come on and write your letter,
You know it will be better anyhow.
You're gonna laugh again,
You're gonna smile again,
You're gonna love again.
Sweet dreams are born inside you,

Layla over at Layla's Classic Rock Faves posted an interesting question of whether or not people would go and see Zeppelin without Plant. What makes the question that much more dificult, is it's regarding an iconic singer, with a distinct vocal talent. Granted, his voice has certainly deteriated over the years, but he is still a focal point of the band. In a similar situation, I am forced with the question of whether or not I should go see Yes, without Jon Anderson, w... MORE

Although I consider myself to be a relatively tolerant and optimistic person, I have become somewhat disillusioned with the human race. It seems like all we ever hear about is greed, violence, and superficial nonsense. Despite my recent bout of cynicism, I still believe that there are enough good people in this world to outweigh the bad. I received this e-mail earlier, and it kinda revived my faith a little bit. It also happens to be music-related, so I decided... MORE
Paul Simon and Yes - as logical a pairing as Sebastian Cabot and Bob Dylan I understand that Jon Anderson had a little something going with Sissy, though this cannot be substantiated at this time.
Geriatric they may be now, but Yes is gearing up for their 40th anniversary tour. The line up consists of original members Jon Anderson and Chris Squire, long-time members Steve Howe and Alan White, and newcomer Oliver Wakemen to the keys, son of none other than Rick Wakemen himself. (By the way, this change in the keyboardist is something like the 11th or 12th such keyboarding change the band has gone through in its life. No other band that I know of has changed its li... MORE
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - British progressive-rock band Yes said on Wednesday it canceled its upcoming 40th anniversary tour of North America because singer Jon Anderson has been diagnosed with acute respiratory failure.
Anderson, 63, was hospitalized last month after a severe asthma attack, and doctors have told him that he will jeopardize his health unless he rests for at least six months, according to a statement.(Full article)

Here I was watching Gates of Delirium when I realized how BEAUTIFUL the "soon" part was performed live at Queens park. Tough sometimes things slightly go out of tune it is such a difficult movement as it is slow and gentle and very fragile so i really think Steve and Jon did an incredible job. Steve Howe playing that lap steel is so expressive and fragile. And Jon's vocals are so difficult and yet tender. The finale of this song is one of the most HIGHER things you'll ever... MORE
It's amazing when musicians, despite their age, have the quality and sensibility to make such difficult and fragile movements and songs. This last part of Awaken is very tricky! Comon, Alan White is playing that tuned percussion for more than 3 minutes!! And Jon Anderson playes harp, never missing one note!! And he barely used it in Yes over the years! And this two guys are almost 60 years old! Great job!Through the years Yes showed that despite high skilled musicians (lik... MORE
