she's tight and all, but.....the emo guitar/synthtar player (Zinner) is amazing. i heard that dude once got the shit beat out of him by a dude that was banging his girlfriend, yet he still cut himself with a broken stella artois bottle just to feel something 'real'!!!...too far???? seriously though, the nerdy/super ill drummer (Chase) is ridiculously out of every rock drummer's league....not to mention that his skills were honed at Oberlin in NE Ohio!!! WHAT WHAT WH... MORE

Here's the video of Yeah Yeah Yeahs (live at Reading, 2006). That was...smthing new for me. Karen's O performance is always unforeseeable.

The Yeah Yeah Yeahs have always been very "present" on their website because of regular, personal updates and ever-growing galleries of amazing photos by Nick Z. Earlier this year, someone remodeled the entire site, with the promise of making it more fun for fans to use. It's been 2 months since the new design went up and the trio have been publishing new content like mad these last 2 weeks! They added new tunes - classic YYYs hits remixed by Nick and a collab between Kare... MORE

The Yeah Yeah Yeahs have had a lot of websites during their career as superstars. I kinda miss the mad creativity of their earlier ones (especially the black and white dominated one with the bunny that followed your cursor everywhere), but with increased fame comes the need for increased functionality. The new design up at yeahyeahyeahs.com screams functionality. It has the same pages that we've become accustomed to like news and tour info, but now it also sports a message... MORE

New York City based rock trio Yeah Yeah Yeahs have announced they are working on a new album, according to an announcement on their group's official website. That album will be a follow-up to 2006's Show Your Bones(Interscope). The group explains:
We have a wet and wild feeling about 2008 and we're not kidding. YYYs are currently writing and recording another record. A chunk of December was spent on a musical farm in Mass throwing cow dung at each other, m

A new Spike Jonze-directed feature film of "Where The Wild Things Are," the beloved childrens' book by Maurice Sendak, was announced for a 2009 release.
Dave Eggers is pitching in with script-work and Karen O has written music for the film. I think this might be a perfectly wild team for telling this story on the big screen! Spike Jonze is an incredible director, as evidenced by the diversity and creative quality of the many music vids he has filmed and the real... MORE

Current obsession of the last few weeks - the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. All albums and all songs. This band seems to polarize people - my experience is that people either hate them or love them........I'm squarely in the latter camp. Makes it even more weird that I haven't seen them live yet. Anyway, some favorite tracks of mine:
Black Tongue - Fever to Tell
Y Control (of course) - Fever to Tell Rockers to Swallow - Is Is (ep)
Down Boy - Is Is (ep) Cheated Hearts ... MORE

I'm back... didn't even intentionally mean to be away... but friends & family abounded this holiday season (least the past week plus they did) & though I love you all bunches & bunches of HONEY BUNCHES OF OATS , there is _+nothing+_ that compares to hanging with my friends & family. This year really took the cake _(or should I say pie) ?!?_ Either way, I will try to be more present, if not here, then surely on Multiply... I just took me an electronic... MORE

Once upon a time in a small village just north of San Bruno, there lived this guy that would draw pictures and listen to music...
.
.
With the encouragement of his friends, he got in contact with The Fillmore... a fantastic and historic venue that was known for three things...
.
1. They provided the best in entertainment.
.
2. They provide free apples.
.
3. After most shows, they hand out
unique posters featuring that night's act.

I still don't quite understand what The Festival Ball was all about, other than, say, hedonistic pleasures. Perhaps that was the point, or maybe it was tied to the Toronto Film Festival somehow, I never did find out. And even though the party at The Berkeley Church was a guest list only event hosted by Vice Magazine, it seemed that getting on the guest list was just a matter of knowing that the event was happening.

Just when the Yeah Yeah Yeahs thought they could go home and rest, they got an offer they couldn't refuse! October 4th in the Year of the Fire Pig, triple Y will be rocking Beijing at the Modern Sky Festival. It's the first festival of its kind created by the Chinese indie label, Modern Sky. It's a 3-day outdoor music festival with 120 bands and musicians and headlined by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. It starts October 2 at Haidan Park and includes performances by local bands Re-T... MORE

The show sold out in 40 seconds at 10AM on a Sunday. The place wasn't overcrowded, but it was impossible to get a spot front and center. The music was so great and the energy so fantastic that I wasn't really concentrating on a concert review. I was totally lost in the music and the moment. But here is what I recollected on paper once the show was over.....
San Francisco adores the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. No other town loves this band more except maybe New York City. Witn... MORE
