From the creative mind of the RZA, the newest offshoot of the Wu-Tang Clan has launched! WU-CHESS, as the name suggests the site is sort of a social network for fans of the Wu and fans of chess, to communicate and challenge each other, or "train in the chambers against the computer to refine your skills". "The game of chess is like a sword fight. You must think first, before you move." The cost is $48 per year, and the site can be found here, www.wuchess.com Peac... MORE
This is the track that samples "My Guitar Gently Weeps" by The Beatles. Dhani Harrison, son of George Harrison, played the guitar for this effort while Erykah Badu sang the chorus. The video is pretty odd to me, and for the life of me I cannot understand what it has to do with the actual song. It's also a little disappointing that Ghostface and Method Man didn't make it. If any of the moggers know how the song and video match up... feel free to speak up. You ca... MORE

BBC 1Xtra's hip hop dj Ras Kwame tells the Wu-Tang Clan story in a new BBC documentary. Ras Kwame also hung out with the band at their first UK concert in 2 years and first outing since ODB's death. It's an audio documentary, not video, and you can listen to it on BBC 1Xtra's website. Ras Kwame sets out to find out how these cats can keep throwing out hits after so many years. It's a great doc with RZA, GZA, Raekwon, Method Man, Ghostface, and others talking about the... MORE
In recent years, I think Ghostface Killah has been the most consistently interesting and exciting rapper in America, and it’s been fascinating to see how his career has evolved from being one of the Wu Tang Clan’s most unpredictable footsoldiers, a spluttering maverick with a penchant for richly overloaded imagery and detuned sing-songs, to the Clan’s most bankable solo star. I’m about halfway through “The Big Doe Rehab” now, and there’s some great things here in his usu... MORE
Different members of Wu-Tang Clan are filming "webisodes" for AOL's Spinner website as their album prepares for release. Spinner reports that the videos highlight verses from the upcoming Wu-Tang album, 8 Diagrams. Ghostface Killah, who is reported to not even like the album, happens to be the first to have his video published. It's almost more of an ad than anything else, but the theme of chinese magic that Wu-Tang regular adopts is always a fave feature of mine. Here... MORE
RZA took time out to respond to criticisms from his group member Raekwon about the direction of the new Wu album 8 Diagrams. Rae's major beef was that the new sound strayed away from hip hop and their hardcore style.
While doing promotions for the 8 Diagrams album overseas, RZA responded to Rae's rant and revealed they had talked over the problem. RZA went on to say it was his goal to make worldly music and not the localized hood sound they became famous for. He realizes s... MORE

For months now, Ghostface was the sole member of Wu-Tang speaking out against the direction of the group. Now Raekwon has followed suit and publicly voiced his displeasure. The main gripe between members is the new direction RZA has decided to take with an orchestral sound.
When the news was revealed that the Wu-Tang were sampling My Guitar Gently Weeps by The Beatles, some Beatles fans were not happy. It's a little ironic that some Wu-Tang members feel the exact same way.... MORE
