white denim After releasing their stellar Workout Holiday LP in the UK to unequivocally glowing reviews , then proceeding to tear up clubs all over Europe, TX's White Denim is finally set to release their self-produced Exposion LP here in the states in November on Austin's young Transmission label. I might've gone on enough about how much I love these dudes over the last couple years, so...
Austin-based trio White Denim have already gotten write-ups in Rolling Stone GQ, the latter pegging them as on of the five must-see acts at SXSW 2008.All this and White Denim haven't even released a debut album yet. The band's only album is the self-released Let's Talk About It EP.In the Carlos LaRotta-directed video for "Let's Talk About It off the EP of the same name, WD said they "tried to m...
Austin-Texas rockers White Denim have put together a brillant and uncompromising sophmore release with Fits. The trio continues to move the goalposts from their 2008 debut Workout Holiday; playing with an amalgum of disperate sounds and rhtyms, agilely shifting (often mid-track and without warning) from garage rock, to blues, country, punk to psycadelica. Recorded in their trailer, tracks reel ...
--- - |- Here's the brand new, appropriately filthy clip for White Denim's next UK single, "Shake Shake Shake." Directed by Tom Haines and starring a ragtag crew of South London junkyard-dwellers, the clip does a stellar job of capturing the dirty party vibe of the song. If life was a basketball chant, White Denim fans would be the ones yelling “Un-der-ra-ted!” I got turned on to them by whoever runs Gorillavsbear and you should know about them too if you like that fuzzy, garage influenced, throwback sound. Apparently, they are monsters live and worth every penny you pay to see them. I haven’t seen them yet, but you can bet I will the next time they come to
I saw this video today and it reminded me of all the strange dreams I‘ve had were I’m running or flying away from or to something and then I wake up with a rather awful charlie horse. Anyway, the video is by Austin, Texas-based trio White Denim from their second album ‘Fits’ which was released in Europe on June 22 on Full Time Hobby Records.Check out their video for the single “I Start t
Interesting things tend to happen when White Denim get around cameras. Sometimes they film naked old people , sometimes they bust our lenses . This time the scrappy Denton trio are mired in a scrapheap, surrounded by busted up jalopies, streaked in grime, whipping through "Shake Shake Shake" at the center of a dance party of scuzzy junkyard miscreants. Mattresses burn, hotties sponge down Beame...
I can’t remember if I’ve written about the new White Denim album Fits at all, but it’s easily going to be Top 10 of 2009 for me. Front to back is a sonic masterpiece from a three piece band that gives it their all on stage, producing some of the most vibrant and creative [...]Related posts:The Sea and Cake Fall 2008 Tour DatesApollo Sunshine Announce Fall 2008 Tour DatesCold War Kids | 2008
Fuzzy Texan rockers White Denim have an album by the name of Fits due on June 22nd of this year and so what better way to entertain the fans than by playing your new music live? The trio travel around the UK this June and July, starting off in Birmingham a day after their albums release (June 23rd) and finishing on July 8th in London.
The appearance of new material from White Denim last week was unexpected but very welcome around these parts. The new tune ‘Mirrored and Reverse’ is taken from the band’s forthcoming second LP Fits (out June 22nd on Full-Time Hobby) and sounds much tighter, cleaner and bluesy than anything off Workout Holiday. It still has a [...]
