Nobody can accuse Austin's White Denim of playing it safe. The band's third album, Fits, is out now and the trio demonstrate a renewed commitment to their pushing sonic boundaries. The new album is a non-stop attack on the senses. A dizzying array of sounds and influences are at play on Fits. The band experiment with changes in song structure, pace, and styles, at times changing them up
Austin-Texas rockers White Denim have put together a brillant and uncompromising sophmore release with Fits. The trio continues to move the goalposts from their 2008 debut Workout Holiday; playing with an amalgum of disperate sounds and rhtyms, agilely shifting (often mid-track and without warning) from garage rock, to blues, country, punk to psycadelica. Recorded in their trailer, tracks reel ...
Last years Workout Holiday from Austin Texas trio White Denim was a high energy punk rock debut, and its raw garage sound not only stood out but stood up, in a year which from a critic’s point of view was dominated by more experimental and folksy records. These guys certainly haven’t wasted any time in…

If life was a basketball chant, White Denim fans would be the ones yelling “Un-der-ra-ted!” I got turned on to them by whoever runs Gorillavsbear and you should know about them too if you like that fuzzy, garage influenced, throwback sound. Apparently, they are monsters live and worth every penny you pay to see them. I haven’t seen them yet, but you can bet I will the next time they come to
the Texas trio's third LP--Fits-- is set for a release in October in the US. the band recorded and produced the album themselves. the band (like Cage the Elephant, and The Strokes and Kings of Leon before them) are doing much better in Europe, where the album was released last month. I, for one, apologize for my fellow Americans' shite taste in music.tracklisting below:'Radio Milk How Can You ...
I saw this video today and it reminded me of all the strange dreams I‘ve had were I’m running or flying away from or to something and then I wake up with a rather awful charlie horse. Anyway, the video is by Austin, Texas-based trio White Denim from their second album ‘Fits’ which was released in Europe on June 22 on Full Time Hobby Records.Check out their video for the single “I Start t
I like the original version of this video better. The song "I Start To Run" comes off White Denim's sophomore album Fits. If you haven't added this one to your collection yet then I suggest you go buy it now. And yes, I mean buy. PS: Stateside bros, please bring White Denim back to the Valley soon.
The genre hopping alone can make Fits difficult to digest, but give it a few spins and your patience will be rewarded. White Denim isn’t breaking any new ground here, but their peculiar brand of psychedelic garage rock is rambling, catchy, and loaded with enough nuance to command repeat listens. I can’t remember if I’ve written about the new White Denim album Fits at all, but it’s easily going to be Top 10 of 2009 for me. Front to back is a sonic masterpiece from a three piece band that gives it their all on stage, producing some of the most vibrant and creative [...]Related posts:The Sea and Cake Fall 2008 Tour DatesApollo Sunshine Announce Fall 2008 Tour DatesCold War Kids | 2008
There are a few new White Denim songs floating around the internets in anticipation of their forthcoming third full-length, Fits, due out in October in the States. The dark and eerily soulful "Syncn" is one of those songs. Sung entirely in falsetto, the song reminds me of the darker, earlier days of the Rolling Stones when they were churning out tracks like "Paint It Black" and "Mother's Little...
It had been about a year and a half since I first caught former Blips act White Denim opening for the one-time blog buzz band Tapes N Tapes at Irving Plaza. At the time, the Austin-based trio had barely an EP to their name and while a bit sloppy showed a lot of potential for a such a young act. Since then the band has gone on to release three full-length albums in that short span that showcase ...
Fuzzy Texan rockers White Denim have an album by the name of Fits due on June 22nd of this year and so what better way to entertain the fans than by playing your new music live? The trio travel around the UK this June and July, starting off in Birmingham a day after their albums release (June 23rd) and finishing on July 8th in London.
The appearance of new material from White Denim last week was unexpected but very welcome around these parts. The new tune ‘Mirrored and Reverse’ is taken from the band’s forthcoming second LP Fits (out June 22nd on Full-Time Hobby) and sounds much tighter, cleaner and bluesy than anything off Workout Holiday. It still has a [...]
