This is a jam album that I added to my April playlist on Mog this morning. Very unique vibe from this L.A. band. Also found a live version of the song "Indian Ocean" on YouTube from their newest release that was taped at the Troubadour in February. The live show looks very cool. Looks like "West Indian Girl" will be rising up across the Mogosphere soon.

So, I stumbled over to Stereogum.com on SatisfiedMind's recommendation and, wadda ya know, I found this up-and-comming So-Cal act. Take a bit of Jane's Addiction, some 80's synth lines, a bit o beach charm, season with the proper fungal additives, and enjoy! I have to post something about this band, they are hitting my ears so much lately, and I think they are crisp and exciting. Sometimes a band comes along and you just fall in love with their sound. That's W.I.G. for me. Haven't really heard anything this good in awhile. "To Die In L.A." comes from their new disc "4th & Wall"

You know, I might have posted this before, but what the hell... West Indian Girl... really I don't know what to think about them. Musically they are not my thing, but I still kinda like them. Mostly because for a all to brief instant I was dating a woman who told me about them. There is a lot I could say here about how she seemed like the right woman for me, and that at the time I felt like I was on my way to really falling in love and then, poof... it was over... really I... I only discovered them this year, but have been raving about them to everyone. Has anyone seen a live show? I am really curious to hear if they can 'pull it off' live. I just hate it when a band is so great in the studio (have great producers) and SUCK live. Y'know?
I am also excited about the new album that should be out in early 2007. yay!
