All Music GuideThis LP added three more alternate takes to the legacy of guitarist Wes Montgomery when it was first released in 1983. In addition to unknown versions of "Body and Soul," "The Trick Bag" and "If I Should Lose You," the LP made it easy for collectors who already had the original albums to add the other alternate takes (five in all) initially released as part of the Milestone "two-fer" series without having to purchase a lot of duplicates. All of the music has since been included in his 12-CD Riverside boxed set but listeners who stumble across this now-rare LP will find a good cross-section of Montgomery's Riverside recordings since this music features the great guitarist in five different settings.
