…this means the Death Cab For Cutie Slap Chop isn’t far behind. We’ve known about this for a while here in the DLE Dungeon and kinda wanted to leave this one alone, but now the band has gone out of their way to film a fully bona fide infomercial for their Weezer Snuggie. Queue the rainbows [...]
I absolutely love Weezer. Sure their brand of geek rock may be shallow, but not many bands can put out song after song which has a hook as strong as the last. This is what Weezer has done their entire career - until recently that is. My local record store carried the vinyl copy of their newest album Raditude a few days before release, which prompted a purchase from myself. Originally I was on t...
Before I go into any specifics about the album, I have a quick disclaimer: If the only Weezer you will listen to is Pinkerton and The Blue Album, stay far, far away from Raditude. Case in point: Lil’ Wayne contributes a verse on one song. So, if Weezer’s lean toward the mainstream sickens [...]No related posts. Sorry.
WeezerRaditudeGeffen Records02 November 2009by Luke MortonIt was only last year when that Weezer released their sixth studio- and third eponymous album (dubbed The Red Album by fans and critics alike), but now they’re back with Raditude, the album Rivers Cuomo should never have written.Maybe Weezer are trying to maintain their resurgent popularity (thanks the kids [...]
From the band that brought us the likes of Pinkerton and The Blue Album, we now have Raditude by Weezer – a light, fun album that pokes fun at the California lifestyle of partying, girls, and celebrity. The album kicks off with “(If you’re wondering if I want you to) I want you to”. If you [...]
Welcome to the second of hopefully many of my weekly posts, This week I’ve been looking into Weezer, Tropic Thunder, The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas and the TV series The FamilyAfter rediscovering my love for good old nerd rock outfit Weezer, I got my hands onto a copy of their new release ‘Weezer - [...]
by brittanybf and drewfontsLet's get it out of the way now: Weezer will never be better than Blue (or critic pick Pinkerton). Thirteen years ago, their sweaters came un-did, giving way to half-assed rap 'party' songs...Who saw that comin'? While parts of their latest album actually impressed us, that doesn't mean much. Prior to Raditude, it's been a good four albums of mediocrity from the band....
I posted up the AOL Sessions of this track a few days ago but now we have the actual track. I think Chamillionaire defintely did alot better than Weezy did. Check out the new remix.Weezer Feat. Chamillionaire – Can’t Stop Partying (Remix) [Very Hot]
While Rivers Cuomo released "Alone: The Home Recordings of Rivers Cuomo" this week, the rest of Weezer are also busy on some solo projects. The band's rhythm guitarist Brian Bell is back at work with his other band, "The Relationship.":http://www.myspace.com/therelationship New members have been added and the band is recording new material. Drummer Pat Wilson is recording a new album with his s...
By now most people have heard that Weezer's sixth album will be the band's third self-titled effort in it's history. Like the previous self-titled albums, which have taken to the color scheme (i.e. The Blue Album, The Green Album), this one will definitely be referred to as The Red Album, according to the band.Producers on the new album include Rick Rubin, Jacknife Lee and the band itself. With...
