Mog is a cat in this series of books that tends to get up to a lot of no good but in the end is loved unconditionally by simple minded children despite how many times Mog fucks up. (hmmm...seems like a familiar story somehow)
I think our Mog has been huffing on a Scotch Guard Bong. Things seem to be running real slow and making no sense.... MORE

"The wash is out
it's hanging up
and all I have is
nothing" Next up in my list of great songs too many people have never heard is Ween's What Deaner Was Talkin' About. Like a lot of Ween songs, it is a little strange, and the lyrics are sort of oblique... "If I was king
I'd wear a ring
and never hurt my people
I'd stay alert
and dressed to kill
I might even slip you something" I don't know what it means, but I love it. Off of their Chocolate and Cheese ... MORE

After enjoying "Quebec" pretty thoroughly - not even getting too annoyed at "Hey There Fancy Pants" or "The F*cked Jam" - I am annoyed by their recent album "La Cucaracha." I appreciate the groovy dub of "The Fruit Man" and, yes, "Your Party" is frickin funny. Everything else sounds like a castoff, with the disturbing exception of "Object." That song has atmospherics, melody, and pretty heartfelt singing. But as far as I can tell, it's "The Silence of the Lambs" set to m... MORE

Hooray! I finally finished a picture that I've been lazily working on for 3 or 4 months now. So glad it's done. Can't stop though. Must make more pictures. I would like to thank the good DJ's at Paris DJ's for making awesome mixes, thanks to Italy for the loads of Italo Disco I've been playing, thx to my best girl Rachel for her encouragement, and thx to my cat Simon for being so crazy awesome. I would also like to thank Mogger Nicki for posting the picture of Jupiter s... MORE

Ween, icons of weird rock, are back in action with a new album and a North American tour that wraps up with 2 sold out performances in NYC this weekend. Ween are legendary for their extensive touring and live performances that bring down the house. So, to keep the party going, they've announced another string of tour dates for 2008 in support of their new album La Cucaracha. Dean and Gene Ween will travel from DC to Florida in January, then head down under for a thorough... MORE

summary Ween's wild ride is back for another lap - but the whiplash is beginning to set in. Have you ever seen the movie UHF ? A veritable pinnacle of cinematic excellence (big words...check), UHF is the master-opus of Weird Al Yankovich at his earnestly bizarre best. Whether I'm being sarcastic or not, I don't even know, but regardless - It's the story of a dopey, down on his luck, twinkie-dog lo... MORE

Just got the new Ween album last night. I've had a chance to listen to it a couple of times, and so far...it's freakin' great!
I can't say much more. It's pretty heavy. I guess I would say if you took all of the best "genres" Ween has done and mixed them all up. A little of everything.
Here's a LP version of Friends...
See an an earlier post for the Friends EP version of Friends.
I don't think I'll be able to resist sharing more of this album...I'd be surp... MORE

Last week I posted the details of the new Ween album and the full tour dates. There is a lot of excitement surrounding Ween's return to the studio and the spotlight. But, there has also been some talk about the stark contradiction included in this album: horns. That's right, horns. The brothers Ween had sworn they would never use horns on an album. I think it was a teenage angst thing, like don't trust anybody over 30. Well, in this case it was don't trust a band once t... MORE

One of the most experimental bands ever is making new waves with a new album titled La Cucaracha. The brothers Ween are back with their first album in four years and an extensive Fall tour. La Cucaracha will be the debut release on a new label: Rounder Records, and the tentative release date is scheduled for October 23rd. The tour will begin a week earlier on October 16th in Bloomington, Indiana. The album was recorded in the band's home state of Pennsylvania with Andrew ... MORE
