All Music GuideOne of a string of solid early-'80s collaborations between the best vocal group around (Wailing Souls) and the best group of instrumentalists (Roots Radics), Face the Devil also boasted the production work of Linval Thompson and mixing by King Tubby. Though not in the same league as a classic like Firehouse Rock, this session balanced vocal highlights (the title track, "Rudie Say Him Bad") with dub versions ("Penny I Love You").
