This is Lambert's in downtown Austin. It's a new venue for live music. My band, The Tony Scalzo Machine, is playing there on March 23rd. It's been a strange week, for sure. I spent a couple of hours Wednesday, the 24th, with my bro in a totally cool studio in Costa Mesa. It's a converted storage/warehouse space that also has a loft apartment, and is packed with all kinds of musical kitsch decor. I wish I'd taken my camera with me. I haven't even LOOKED at my violin since July of 2005 (Around a fire pit in Huntington Beach with Tony Scalzo and nearly Academy Award nominated singer/song-writer Dayna Lane.) This is the bass amp I dreamed I would one day own. I didn't just get it, I've had it for 10 years now. It's loud and proud and a breeze to transport because it lives in it's own little house! It's a house that's on wheels and it scoots all around! If it fell on you it would hurt. The head in it's case weighs 105 lbs. Isn't that stupid? No, it's not...the beast sounds good.
