This is just a guess at how old "Mr. Benedetto" was when he recorded this track, but he sure sounds "younger than springtime" in the "Jazz/Vocalist/Take Five" collection. I'll let more knowledgeable Tony Bennet fans figure out when this stereo recording was made.

In the late 1990's, Tony Bennett and Robert Farnon met once again in the studios in London to record three songs to be added to their 1969 effort "Snowfall." The results of those sessions were never released on "Snowfall" or anywhere else which is a pity. Tony Bennett is 81 today. I was lucky enought to see him in concert three times: Radio City, Carnegie Hall, and the Blue Note (for non-New Yorkers: a pocket-sized jazz club in the Village). You watch him, and you think, my god, is there anyone who loves performing as much as he does? On the heels of their Grammy winning song earlier this year For Once in My Life, Tony Bennett and Stevie Wonder are in talks to take it a step further and release an album together. Although the album isn't set in stone, things are moving in the right direction for the project to take place. So here I sit listening to my birthday present from my mom (the big 25, thank you very much) the Tony Bennett Duets CD that was released by Target for his 80th birthday. I dig old school Tony Bennett and jazz of course, but something about hearing Juanes sing "The Shadow of Your Smile" that doesn't do it for me.
