Tom Waits - Orphans: I was intrigued by this cover the moment I saw it, and it pretty much sold me on buying it. The idea of Tom's "Orphans" (songs that didn't quite make it on to other records) being represented as ghosts is such a great visual metaphor to me.

I have been reading many of your top ten songs/records of the year and reading a lot of critics top 10 lists and i am overwhelmed how little new music i buy. I would and could easily buy a cd a day but i force myself to buying a new cd as a treat. (note: if you want to continue your current cd buying habits don't have 4 kids.)
