So here's my Friday tune. Tokyo Police Club and there sick light show made an appearance in Buffalo last week and I've been meaning to post something from them. The demands and responsibilities of my real world job preclude me from writing any form of review, but I'd be interested to hear what you all think of TPC.
Happy Happy Joy Joy...It's Friday!
Cheers~

Next up in the cavalcade of bands that need to release something new just to make me happy is Tokyo Police Club. Their last album, 2006's a Lesson In Crime, comes in at a scant 16 minutes and seven tracks -- just barely an album in my book. But it's a fun record, built around some amazing, angular drumming, with a layer of Interpol guitar stylings and retro keyboards tossed on top. If that's not enough, TPC sings about robots taking over the world and making children ... MORE
So after a fun, but tiring trip to the west Texas hill country, I came back to Austin and saw a great Canadian band. Tokyo Police Club released an EP a while ago, and managed some buzz, and I got to see them at Emo’s on Sunday. They Played with white denim, and Ra Ra Riot. White Denim was one of the local bands that I didn’t know about, their sound was jumbled and the band was really energetic. They could probably use a lead guitarist, because the lead singer, who also pla... MORE
yeah this song, which it's been my ring tone for more than 6 weeks by now the one that, last nite on the workout made me sing and go home happy. i'm not sure when i'm gonna be able to see this band, but certainly since they are from Canada i would be able to; in fact, i'm also willing to see editors in the near future, since in October i'll be seeing Interpol again, which makes me have this feelin' of general nervousness and happiness. also last nite, i saw Linkin Park... After almost a month a got my copy of A Lesson In Crime, and I asked myself how I got it? well MOG guide me them. Looking to similar MOGs I found this. It's sweet the sound, love the rhythm and the vocals, specially if your are driving either driving 60 MPH or stuck under the traffic caused by the rain.
Be good with your old folks, after a long week, stay tuned.
And I wonder, do you know guys that one of your CDs are here in Mexico City?

Who needs a high budget video when you make music as good as this?
Tokyo Police Club is the greatest thing to ever come out of Newmarket (unless you're a huge Glass Tiger fan, but don't take my word for it, I wikipedia'd newmarket to see who else came out of that town). I highly recommend checking out their EP A Lesson in Crime. It's 16 minutes long.
The son... MORE

Having absolute fuck-all to do with Tokyo and/or the police force, but quite a bit too do with damn fine music.
Downlaoded their debut album as part of my continuing adventure in using my 25 free songs thing from eMusic, as it's only 7 racks and one was free.
It is all kinds of good. Ever so slightly schizophrenic, but easily listenable straight through. And thats not something i often say about a record.
great song.
it's sent me into a frenzy of finding similar artists.
Of Montreal's new album is OUT!
_Hissing Fauna, Are You The Destoyer?_
yesss.
is it just me, or are [most] females just...crazy?
it seems to me that having two x-chromosomes automatically shuts off the "sane" feature of the brain.
i happen to have two x-chromosomes, but i'm sane.
i don't understand half of the stuff girls do.
