I always thought it was kinda cool that Todd Rundgren, lead guitarist and leading creative force behind the psychedelic garage-rock band Nazz, had a career that went far beyond that group's singular late-'60s splash with the blistering-yet-melodic track "Open My Eyes." He went on to acclaim as a solo artist who mastered the one-man-band/multi-instrument/studio-overdub technique that Stevie Wond...
Former New England Patriots Cheerleader Alison Preston.'Keep your head and everything will be cool. You didn't have to make me feel like a fool. When I try to say I feel the way that I do. I want to talk with you. And make it loud and clear. Though you don't care to hear. But 'Couldn't I Just Tell You' the way I feel? In 1976, Todd Rundgren ventured into dangerous territory. "What if" he mused "some of the greatest artists I admire from the 60's had this wonderful technology at their disposal? What would their recordings have sounded like?" and, after assessing his own unlimited wizardry, declared "I can do that!" Side one of Faithful held the faithfull recreations of some of the greatest tunes of The Beatle...
On "A Wizard, A True Star" Todd Rundgren did a medley of Motown hits that, for me, became more definitive than the original versions. Probably because I heard them here first, I am forever delightfully scarred with this Philly soul bastard. We make good bedpartners. In their presentation order:I'm So Proud (Mayfield)Ohh Baby Baby(Robinson/Cleveland/Benson)La La Means I Love You(Hart/Bell)Cool Je...
...Todd's "Liars" is a great CD. A kalaidoscope of styles and sounds all about "a paucity of truth". You just gotta get past the rather unbecoming cover pic.Don't be fooled into thinking all tracks on the CD are in this style, but, after all, it is Friday!
'Let's get it all out in the open. Somebody call and make it happen. In the boardroom, on the backstreets. Hugs and kisses, knives or axes. Why not here, why not now? Why not here, why not now? 'I took off up the hill at a steady pace. I said: don't die on me now, we're gonna win this race. So we can look down on this pissant little town. I'll take one step. And another step, Til I reach that mountaintop. I'm gonna reach the Mountaintop'!Download 'MOUNTAINTOP' by 'TODD RUND...
By Jeff Miers NEWS POP MUSIC CRITIC Updated: 12/09/07 7:25 AM http://www.buffalonews.com/entertainment/music/story/224783.html?imw=YFor more than 35 years, Todd Rundgren has worn myriad musical hats — power-pop progenitor, blue-eyed soul auteur, in-demand record producer, bandleader, prog-rock wizard, one-man band, video visionary, file-sharing frontrunner. Through it all, the clear-eyed consis.
Since the previous http://www.TRconnection.com reviewer Andre' was dead on Correct about Todd's and his current touring bands performance at The State Theatre in Falls Church, VA. last night. There's not much more I can add other than the Highlights of the show for me were a little bit different. But before I get started with my highlights, I do have to stress and Completely agree with Andre' t...

Todd rocks on a 1973 episode of the Midnight Special... totally wild. Arrangement sounds like an impromptu jam session, with the keyboard part lifted from Steely Dan - or was it the other way around...? A must for any Todd fan.
Todd Rundgren's 1989 CD "Nearly Human" is out of print, and that's a damned shame. It's one of his best solo records from the past 20 years. There are several standout tracks on the album, including "Parallel Lines", a cover of Elvis Costello's "Two LIttle Hitlers", but my favorite is this track, "The Want Of A Nail", featuring Bobby Womack on backing vox. The video is shot in the recording stu...
