I bought Tim Hardin 3: Live In Concert today. I had never listened to him before, but have read so many positive things and it was inexpensive and it was so sunny and I just had to step into Looney Tunes on my way home from Cambridge and drop thirty dollars on records. White guys singing hard-core black blues has always been a dubious category for me, falling in the “stock broker guy with ponytail” category. No one ever questioned Tim Hardin’s sincerity, however, and I think his vocals here sound like a man who’s lived the arc inscribed by the lyrics.
