Tim Hardin 2 is probably his best single album, on which he eschewed lues nearly entirely and forged a distinctive folk-rock voice, occasionally embellished by tasteful full arrangements. "The Lady Came from Baltimore," "Red Balloon," and especially "If I Were a Carpenter" rank among his best and most famous songs.
