There are tons of reasons to love Tilly and the Wall. I, myself, pick a classic one: they make darn good music. “Pot Kettle Black” is one of my favorite songs of 2008 and the rest of their new album O are hits as well. But like I said, their fans have a wide variety [...]
Of the brace of bands to spring out of Omaha, Nebraska in recent years, there are probably few more Omaha than Tilly and the Wall; two of them used to be in a band with Conor Oberst, they're signed to his Team Love label and he even produced their first album.
Team Love Records recording artists Tilly And the Wall spent most of the winter holed up in a recording studio working on the follow-up to their 2006 album Bottoms of Barrels. The Omaha, Nebraska based group, who instead of a drummer rely on tap dancer Jamie Pressnall show-stomping for beats, are headed to SXSW for a few shows next month where they will most likely sample their new record. In t...
too freaking cute...Now I know my ABC's next time wont you sing with me.. all together now!!!!Tilly & the Wall on SESAME STREET from Team Love on Vimeo.
Another cool band from the booming metropolis that is Omaha, Nebraska...they are friends of Bright Eyes...and instead of a traditional percussion sound they use dance and other altenative methods to round out the sound. I am liking them more everyday
Just passing on a new one from the latest Tilly And The Wall album...I don't think it's as good as the previous two, but still well worth picking up. I just never get tired of these voices layed over the tap dancing as percussion beats.
Sorry...i guess I was a little depressed and in a moment of weakness I posted that...no excuse I know, but what's done is done...I can only try and erase it from your minds with a good song.So...here is a 'Tilly And The Wall Song'Enjoy
3 stars (out of 5) In 2004 when Tilly and the Wall released their debut album Wild Like Children, I recall it garnering a lot of media attention for a group virtually unheard of at the time. Most of the buzz was likely due to its release on touted Saddle Creek artist Conor Oberst's independent label Team Love. I also remember thinking that the album did a pretty good job of living up to that h...
Okay, so I really never thought this would happen, but it's happening right now. I am posting a song from a band that I have already created a post on. I know, I know, it doesn't seem right does it? For some reason I feel there's an unspoken, quiet rule about not doing such a thing on MOG. But I can't help it. I've been obsessed with this song for the past week so it could...
My favorite tap dancing band makes an appearance on my favorite kids show:Tilly & the Wall on SESAME STREET from Team Love on Vimeo I have to admit, I'm slightly bummed they aren't doing something more creative than the ABCs, but they certainly sell it. They look as excited as I would be if I were appearing on Sesame Street. (One of my goals as a child. Also, to grow up to be famous enough t...
On my way home from work today, I listened to a little Lily Allen. Once I got to my place I settled in after a very long week of proofing until my eyeballs fell out and writing until my hand dropped off, so I decided to tone things down. This was achieved with a few tracks from The Avett Brothers' The Gleam II album-love it. And I can't even explain how good it felt. I w...
If you're named Mimi, quite a bit of teasing in elementary school and then in your adult life, everyone telling you they call their grandmother Mimi.I, of course, did not call my grandmother Mimi. I called her Tilly. Hence my immediate affection for a band named Tilly and the Wall. They are quite lovely and watching this video I'm immediately reminded of their friendship with Of Montreal. This
