Since I am so well connected, I've been sitting on this info for a little while. However, as tickets just went on sale, I can finally announce that THROBBING GRISTLE ARE PLAYING NYC! The recent announcement that the pioneering experimental act would play the Coachella festival should have served as a sign that more domestic [...]

There is an excellent article in the UK Times Online today about the current reunion of Throbbing Gristle. It discusses with the band their reasons for reforming, their recent performances, and how easy it was to start working together again. They recently released their first album in 26 years, PART TWO The Endless Not which is available from their online store.Tracklist For PART TWO The End...
Nothing, not one thing in this world has been at one time been both a great motivater and kept the human race back like fear. Its forced countries to both start and stop wars. Caused people to both gain and loose their faith. Kept you from talking to that certain someone because rejection is a horrible thing or talk to everyone because you don't want to be alone. It is amazing that such a feeli...
And so if, like me, you missed any of the recent performances and were curious, some beautiful concert-goers have made postings to YouTube. A simple search of Throbbing Gristle 2009 yields a few pages of short and long clips posted by these kind souls. For the record, the additions grow. I posted some findings this past Sunday and since then, others have been added. Here are a couple: From ...
Has it really been 2 months since I last posted and 2 years since joining MOG?Why yes it has.And so, dear friends, I bring you more TG. As part of Heathen Earth, the track Subhuman also saw the light as a single from Gen/Chris/Cosey/Sleazy.Brion Gysin, when using his dream machine, thought the album Heathen Earth was an excellent musical companion for the images generated and overall experienc...
OK - so its October, the month where Halloween/Day of the Dead is celebrated... all things undead, creepy, crawly, mysterious and magical come to mind... and today is October 12... the day in 1492 that Cristofero Colombo's ships made landfall in The Bahamas thinking they'd reached East Asia... and with them, they brought European diseases to the indigenous people of the Caribbean, and took ...

The immersion. A stinging. There is only color. No shape. No front or back, simply orbits rippling back from a central disturbance. Some lighter bodies become vapor rather than resolve into the growing hum that shoots through mass and time. There is a dark room. Two boxes emit a coded spell. The organism opens it's eyes and sees flaming arcs and sparks within the boxes. This is good. No other ...
Tonight at the Brooklyn Masonic Temple, the legendary Throbbing Gristle plays the first date of its short but intense U.S. tour. This happens to be the first of three scheduled New York City shows for the seminal industrial band, two of which have been sold out for weeks now. Tonight’s is a particularly [...]
My taste is pretty eclectic. But that can be a problem.Over the years, I can find myself avidly listening to a bunch of good things, while other good stuff passes me by, simply cos there aren't enough hours in the day.So I still find stuff from years back on a regular basis, which slipped through the net.I saw Psychic TV a couple of times in the 80s, most notably a manic gig at Manchester Poly...
You may have heard of a device dubbed the "Buddha Machine", a small contraption which plays a selection of nine drone-based ambient loops continuously. Now, FM3 - the Chinese duo behind that machine - are teaming up with British industrial and visual arts collective Throbbing Gristle to create their own spin on the device.
By far one of the most disturbing compositions of all time in my opinion, this song is extremely original and when I listen to it it actually comforts me in knowing that there are other people who feel the need to express abstract feelings by means of music.Sincerely, Tangerine FuzzLISTEN TO IT!!!
