You may have heard of a device dubbed the "Buddha Machine", a small contraption which plays a selection of nine drone-based ambient loops continuously. Now, FM3 - the Chinese duo behind that machine - are teaming up with British industrial and visual arts collective Throbbing Gristle to create their own spin on the device.
And so if, like me, you missed any of the recent performances and were curious, some beautiful concert-goers have made postings to YouTube. A simple search of Throbbing Gristle 2009 yields a few pages of short and long clips posted by these kind souls. For the record, the additions grow. I posted some findings this past Sunday and since then, others have been added. Here are a couple: From ...
The show sold out almost immediately.Anyone who calls themselves an industrial fan has at least heard of Throbbing Gristle. But they’ve been so dormant for so long that my motivation for buying tickets were more about knowing I should be there than necessarily being a fan of the music.I decided to watch this show [...]
If I close my eyes, I can still clearly envision my first encounter with Throbbing Gristle. The scene was a common one at that particular time in my life: after-school retail hell at a record store. The degenerate staffers took turns manning the stereo, pimping their cred by playing whatever stone cold classic or latest thing no one else had ever heard before (it was a regular Empire Records or...

Since I am so well connected, I've been sitting on this info for a little while. However, as tickets just went on sale, I can finally announce that THROBBING GRISTLE ARE PLAYING NYC! The recent announcement that the pioneering experimental act would play the Coachella festival should have served as a sign that more domestic [...]

There is an excellent article in the UK Times Online today about the current reunion of Throbbing Gristle. It discusses with the band their reasons for reforming, their recent performances, and how easy it was to start working together again. They recently released their first album in 26 years, PART TWO The Endless Not which is available from their online store.Tracklist For PART TWO The End...
Nothing, not one thing in this world has been at one time been both a great motivater and kept the human race back like fear. Its forced countries to both start and stop wars. Caused people to both gain and loose their faith. Kept you from talking to that certain someone because rejection is a horrible thing or talk to everyone because you don't want to be alone. It is amazing that such a feeli...
