Wish you could have gone to the Outside Lands Festival in San Francisco this weekend? Me too, but the next best thing is watching a few of the acts live, right now, and for the rest of the weekend on Youtube. Tune in and you can see: Built to Spill, Q-tip, Zion I, Dave Matthews Band, Cage The Elephant, Robert Randolph & The Family Band, Atmosphere and my personal favorite, Ween, just to name a...

The Thievery Corporation hails from Washington, DC, the contemporary world's Babylon. They're the dub/acid jazz production duo of Rob Garza and Eric Hilton and The Richest Man in Babylon came out on their own label in 2002. The visual images are very much in sync with the band's political proclivities-- if not their beats (I'm still learning).
Here's a movie that had a soundtrack that was filled with good tunes which helped break a couple of bands to a wider US audience...I saw a copy of it in a store recently and it made me think of the film itself which I reviewed a while back...thought I'd throw it online, since the eZine I wrote it for bit the dust, here's the review and blah, blah, blah...In Garden State Andrew "Large" Largeman ...

I think there is plenty reason to postpone our trip to the west coast in order to hopefully attend The Vegoose Festival. Rage would be reason enough in my book but also Thievery Corporation. Completely different from one another and I love shows with a line up from different styles of music. Thievery will appear with their full live band on Saturday October 27th in Las Vegas, NV alongside su...

This has been out for awhile but turned up in the NY Times Circuits tech column recently. The beauty of this beast is wireless downloads for Rhapsody for "To Go" subscribers. It really works -- you can't be too far away from the wireless source, but I don't ha...
