All Music GuideDisky's Ventures retrospective The Original gathers 20 of the seminal surf band's best-known tracks, including usual suspects like "Walk Don't Run," "Ram-Bunk-Shush," "Slaughter on Tenth Avenue" and "Hawaii Five-O." Though it's not quite as in-depth as Walk-Don't Run: The Best of the Ventures, The Original offers an enjoyable, if simplified, retrospective of the group's glory days in the '50s and '60s.
