I have been getting showered with good music news in the last couple weeks. Best of those news are evolving from my favorite Scottish bands obviously. First, a Travis date announcement in Istanbul and then a brand new EP coming from The Twilight Sad phenomenon. A 6-track mini album entitled; 'Here, It Never Snowed, Afterwards It Did' is to be released in June 9th through FatCat Records. Scottish indie rockers Twilight Sad will head out on tour this fall, in support of their debut album Fourteen Autumns And Fifteen Winters. After opening for the Smashing Pumpkins in their hometown, they're tour Europe with Frightened Rabbit. When the band finally hits the united states in late September, they'll tour most of the country alongside Idlewild. ...are excellent. From Glasgow, Scotland too, so local boys.
They have a little bit of a post rock / My Bloody Valentine sound (live it is more apparent) and a pretty unique style to boot, which can be quite difficult with the aforementioned influences considered.
This song is from their debut album 'Fourteen Autumns & Fifteen Winters', which will be pretty hard to come across unless you know some really good independent stores. Enjoy.

Can't get enough of this wonderful band. I can tell Fourteen Autumns and Fifteen Winters is the best album of 2007 so far. The perfect combination of folk, shoegaze and post-rock. What on earth could be better than this?! An adorable heavy Scottish accent? Snap!! Three Seconds of Dead Air is from their earlier EP. And this is the best thing I have heard recently. Hailing from Glasgow, The Twilight Sad is a band that I'm yet to have heard a ton about, but I came across this song that is pretty good. The lead singer's voice reminds me of traditional Irish Folk singers and the musical accompanyment is tremendous. Hopefully they gained some positive exposure at SXSW this year and we'll start hearing more and more from them... anyway, enjoy!
