All Music GuideThe Stylistics showed signs of life with this late-'70s effort. Their vocals were once more vigorous and assertive, while Russell Tompkins, Jr. reached back and began singing with the soaring force and might that had characterized their best songs. They still didn't have top-flight, or even good material, and the production and arrangements were again dreary. But at least the group didn't sound ready to call it a career.
