The Smithereens came to CT and played the Milford Oyster Festival and basically rocked my socks off. I am so happy they are back out and about making new music and gracing us with their special brand of retro-roots-rock. Their energy and enthusiasm was contagious and the audience had a blast. I took some really, really bad photos with my camera... being so short (even wearing 3 inch platform sandals!) they came out so blurry and wavy I won't even try to post them. I was so... MORE

The Smithereens are a New Jersey band who came about in the late'70s. They had several eps, the first being in '80, but their first official album wasn't until '86 with "Especially For You". "A Girl Like You": "Smithereens 11" was their 3rd album in 1989.
