Obviously, I'm attending July 15th (GOGOL FOOKING BORDELLO!). My 'problem' is with July 16th. I'm not sure if I'll have to pay tickets for this yet, but the festival takes place in Athens, and I'll have to stay an extra day at a hotel, so there is extra cost no matter what. In general, I am a bit of a snob with big bands that come here when they are old (especially if I haven't seen them young; I'm afraid they'll ruin what I imagined they would be). But I thought I'... • I'm sorry, but no amount of money would force me to see this bunch of has beens crawling on stage and insulting the audience. As they say, "money talks and bullshit walks".

From Punk to Pretentious: Malcolm McLaren, Ex-Sex Pistols Manager, blogs for NY Times about Art Basel and Champagne?

Free music video of God Save the Queen (46)
Blog post image preview Hmmm...so everyone is supposed to grow more tame and more senile with age. I live wild and rootless now - knowing one day I'll be couch-surfing more than crowd-surfing, a purple-haired grandma not a pink-haired pixie. Still, when I read Malcolm McLaren was going to guest blog in the NY Times' T Mag "The Moment" Blog, I figured the guy who managed Sex Pistols and New York Dolls would have biting commentary peppered with anarchistic innuendos. After all, this is dude r... MORE

Blog post image preview On April 4, 1976, the Sex Pistols first interview was published. I wrote it. I hadn't intended to write it, but the morning after seeing them I was talking about it to my editor. I was really bored with current music and the Pistols seemed to be the first truly modern band in several years: they didn’t sound like anything else. He didn’t say much, listening with an increasingly bemused look, then told me to do an interview. When I protested they were too new he pointed o... MORE

First Ever Full-Length Sex Pistols Concert DVD Out This Year

Blog post image preview The Sex Pistols 2007 reunion is sounding like it was more and more of a moneymaker these days than a 30th Anniversary celebration. After an on/off career of mostly touring, the band's original line-up of Johnny Rotten, Steve Jones, Paul Cook and Glen Matlock the punk's founding fathers got back together last November for a handful of sold out shows at London's Brixton Academy. Now the Sex Pistols will use the footage from the five-night run for their first-ever full conc... MORE

One advantage of writing about music is that you don’t need a diary. One disadvantage is that you experience so much of it that there are concerts of which I have absolutely no memory. Not one shard. I know I was there – I have the newspaper clipping. Today, Rocks Back Pages reminded me I saw the first gig by The Buzzcocks, opening for The Sex Pistols. At the same show The Pistols unveiled “Anarchy In The UK”. Not bad for a night’s entertainment. This is not an evening... MORE

"Sid and Nancy": The Meth Minute 39

Sid and Nancy" is the 16th episode of The Meth Minute 39 cartoon series. In this pop-culture mashup, famed punk rock icons Sid Vicious and Nancy Spungen get re-mixed with a certain cat and mouse duo from the Golden Age of animation. The resulting combination is somehow even more unwholesome than the true events which inspired it. Never mind the Sex Pistols, here's The Meth Minute!

    Isle of Wight Festival

    (38)
Oh the fucking trauma of it all. My brother has offered to get me an IoW ticket for my 'ahem'th birthday but, as he is in Sri Lanka for the cricket, he has tasked me with getting them. Easy enough. If he'd transferred over the £400 required. But, OK, I can kinda take that hit till he returns. So I go to a website doing pre-sale tickets (approved by the festival). Guess what? They cost TWELVE QUID more... each. For 'handling fees and secure postage'. OK, so let'... MORE

    God Save All The Queens

Free music video of God Save The Queen (11)
Blog post image preview When The Sex Pistols got together and started putting out records, there weren't many radio djs in the U.S. who would even consider their music. But their songs were all #1 on the KSAN program I co-hosted. And when they toured America they came on the show as our guests and we went to Winterland to see what turned out to be their last-ever concert. "Anarchy in the U.K." was their first single (Nov., 1976) and the following May they released "God Save the Queen," which was ... MORE

Live Footage Of The Sex Pistols' Reunion

Free music video of God Save The Queen (3)
UK punk legends The Sex Pistols are in the middle of a sold-out, five-gig stint at The Brixton Academy in London (November 8, 9, 10, 12 and 14). Additional shows in Manchester at the MEN Arena (November 17) and at SECC in Glasgow (November 18) were recently added due to overwhelming demand. Thirty years ago this fall, the song was first included on The Sex Pistols' only studio album, "Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols" which was reissued on vinyl on October... MORE

Blog post image preview Last night marked the first of seven reunion shows for the original Sex Pistols line-up. Vocalist Johnny Rotten, guitarist Steve Jones, drummer Paul Cook and bassist Glen Matlock opened the show at London's Brixton Academy with "Pretty Vacant" and played classics tunes like "Anarchy in the UK," "God Save the Queen," "Holidays In the Sun" and "EMI." A list of reviews of the performance, where the crowd skewed old, are below. BBC Review Guardian Unlimited NME Reute... MORE

    Anarchy on Jay Leno !?!

Leno is boring milquetoast but it's nice when Lydon asks on National TV, "When are we going to leave Iraq?" . . .
