Saturday Knights Mingle Hip Hop With Seattle Rockers On New LP
about 1 year ago

The Saturday Knights are due for a full-length album release and Light In The Attic Records is ready to make that happen. The Seattle trio's debut LP is titled Mingle and features some interesting guests. Most notably, especially for a hip hop album, is guitar by Kim Thayil (ex-Soundgarden and fellow Seattlite) and drums by Jack Endino (Nirvana collaborator and fellow Seattlite). The Dap-Kin...

Seattle hip hop is alive!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks to kexp I have been introduced to amazing hip hop from the northwest. I am a sucker for kexp and I am addicted to their blog, their podcasts and their newsletters. I like my dose of hip hop......but the more old-school it sounds the better. I have never accepted the fact that there is life after "Low End Theory" by A Tribe Called Quest. Not quite true but it sometimes feel this way.The S...

Hip Hop : It All Used To Be This Fun

Just thought I'd point that out since pretty much everybody seems to have forgotten in the rush to get tatted up and waste time bitching about why nobody takes them seriously as opposed to, you know, making more fucking records. So here are the Saturday Knights, having a damn good time. Two rappers, one DJ, and, on occasion (I'm told), Brian Weber of Dub Narcotic Soundsystem. And they seem to ac...

Blog post image preview

A Hip-Hop group from Seattle??? Sounds like a recipe for quality to me... I just just got my hands on this track from The Saturday Knights, and immediately it fit the bill for me to post. I'm still workin my way up to the proper funk level, but I think these guys have some stuff to offer without a doubt... AND.... it's a great song to play as we wind down to the weekend....

Saturday Knights

This seems like a good way to start the weekend. It reminds me of so much fun hip-hop/dance music I used to hear in the early '90s, although I realize it's too funky and soulful to not have roots dating back further than that. I don't have all the details yet but I believe Light in the Attic Records recently released an EP by the Seattle group and are due to put out a full length this summer. I...

Count It Off from The Saturday Knights, again
7 months ago

We’re not sure you all understood how amazing this song is when we posted it the other day.  The Saturday Knights might be composed of three rather unattractive men (see above), but that has not remotely stopped them from creating one of the most frivolous, bloated, & completely amazing songs we have heard in a [...]

The Saturday Knights’ Count It Off

These guys are ridiculous.  Seattle hip-hop trio The Saturday Knights aren’t you’re average MC’s; rather, they combine a certain bizarre lyricism (think The Lonely Islands) with some really snazzy music, part-hardrock, part-jazz, part-pretty-slick-rapping. We really can’t take them seriously (especially after watching the music video for Count It Off below), but their debut album “Minge
