Considering the subject matter of my last blog perhaps it’s no surprise that I discovered The Redwalls and really like them. Their 60’s 70’s influenced retro cool rockin sound is so Beatlesque it’s bordering on plagiarism on some songs… And the chorus of their song ‘Modern Diet’ even cheekily proclaims "They say it’s all been done before" while proving that although it may have all been done before; if you do it well and with conviction it still works http://ww... This is just the kind of song John would have penned and probably pretty close to how he would have sounded.
This song comes with a parental Warning sticker, but it's still a great track.

as much as I've not been able to think about anything but RA since Thursday, I think it is worth mentioning these fine boys: The Redwalls opened for Ryan the other night. as many times as I've seen and alphabetized their CD, I possibly held it against them that they were too close to the Rolling Stones (alphabetically and visually). therefore I had never even given them the time of day. it's probably a whole other entry to write about how good it feels to discove... The Redwalls are my favorite Chi-Town toothpicks. The running joke between Libby, Steph, and myself about this band is that you can hug all four members at once. We had the privilege of seeing them open for Hot Hot Heat in November so we were familiar with them by the time Lolla rolled around. This familiarity was fantastic because if we hadn't wanted to see them we probably would not have arrived at Grant Park so early and been rewarded with such fantastic spots. ... MORE
