I love a good ole fashion Rocker- and I noticed not much has been posted for these guys- one of the founders of power pop. This one is "A Beatlesque Treat"
The Raspberries outward or most prevalent influences are The Beatles, Beach Boys and The Who. They took the best of all those groups and crafted a new style of music (at the time) that blends those influences into a number of different flavors. This flavor is light and bouncy along the lines of The Beatles "What You’re Doing".-

This song is nothing like "Go All The Way".
You may not realize it, but The Raspberries have one talented drummer. You wouldn’t know it from their radio friendly top 40 hits, but on some of the deeper cuts in their catalog his prowess and technique adds an ambiance and dimension seldom heard.

O.K. folks, this will sound like another seventies group that came along shortly after the Raspberries and also had a nasty break-up. They said they would only get back together when hell freezes over. Well, they did and it didn’t.
I suspect the Raspberries influenced their early work. Take note of the melody and the backing vocals. Enjoy Take It Easy- err, I mean Making It Easy (I’m just saying). -

one of my all time favorite 70's songsby the raspberries "go all the way" tub-ie from the Record Plant, NY '73 including I Wanna Be With You Raspberries lead singer and bass player Eric Carmen wrote this. He went on to fame as a solo artist

This one is straight ahead Rock and Roll with a chugging beat. It's about a guy looking for a one night stand. Never liked the lyrics, but the track rocks. It opens with a Chuck Berry riff with some nice 50's style Rock & Roll piano kicking in as it rolls on. This flavor is nasty.

That’s what’s said just after the song starts to rip. This flavor is more of a slower funky blues rocker. There are some nice guitar bits on this track. Enjoy!

Seventies pop rockers The Raspberries, a favorite of Bruce Springsteen and Death Cab For Cutie’s Ben Gibbard, played at Los Angeles’ House of Blues in 2005 after reuniting and touring the year before. Here’s something light and fun to start off the 4th of July. This flavor is just acoustic silliness. There’s no real merit to the song, just a goofy song like The Beatles "You Know My Name". But it is yet another flavor of the group that you would not have expected from the radio friendly hits.

This one is kind of a cross between early Beatles and Poco, although I think Poco came along after these guys. Anyway, this flavor I'll call Country Comfort.
