This was the biggest hit album The O'Jays ever enjoyed, even though it wasn't as aesthetically transcendent as Ship Ahoy. But it came at the right time; there weren't many great group albums being produced in R&B at the time, and that's what this really was, even if Eddie Levert took most of the leads. "Use Ta Be My Girl" was a triumphant success, while "Brandy" was the prototype album cut that became a hit through popular demand.
