The Notwist released their Boneless 7" today on Domino, and while the original is a fine song in its own right, I ordered the single solely for the b-side: Panda Bear's "sunny, tropicalia tinged remix." However, based on this super lo-fi 1:30 preview excerpt courtesy of Juno, the term "remix" is misleading: this is essentially a brand new Panda Bear song. I normally wouldn't post an excerpt, b...
Our friends at Domino just hooked us up with a copy of the Boneless vinyl 7" to give away. Just leave your name and your favorite Panda Bear song in the comments, and I'll pick a winner on Monday. Also, if you don't own a turntable, you can now buy the 7" digitally for like 2 bucks. Here's the official stream:Finally, here's the track Panda Bear samples/loops on his version of "Boneless." That ...
Most people have never heard of German indie electro-rockers Notwist and even after this post enters the mighty mighty World Wide Web... many people will still not have heard of Notwist. But if you're not one to shy away from frog-legs and sweetbreads on a menu, maybe Notwist will fit your musical pallete. For starters try the trio's new 7 Boneless. It comes with a side of remix...alright, enoug...
My list of Great Danes would go as follows:Sune Rose Wagner of the RaveonettesJonas Bjerre of Mew:And, of course, Our own Henry aka Me And The Horse I Rode In On:!!I don't exactly know what prompted him to do so, but he suggested I check out The Notwist's album Neon Golden, which came out in 2002. I had remembered hearing good things, but had not ever actually __heard__ their music. So I checked...
No real connection between the story and the song, but it did help me think of the title, and it's a mighty fine song.I spent last week "swimming in the estrogen ocean," as I put it in a previous post. To be more descriptive, I spent Monday through Friday last week with about 100 women and girls, all LDS and all from west Wichita and the surrounding towns, at their annual camp, deep in the hear...
Nach 2 Jahren harter Arbeit hat Deutsche Rockband NOTWIST endlich ein brand neues Album fertig aufgenommen...psyched?That's right...German indie rockers the Notwist will release another ambient jubilee of tunes crooned in their almost perfect American accents sometime this June. For The Devil, You + Me, Notwist have taken their time...two whole years to record. The tedious nature of the project...
When this album first came out in 03 I had no idea who The Notwist were or more importantly, what they sounded like. To me they looked like some scandinavian metal band and I have to be in a certain mood to listen to scandinavian metal. So I didn't make that purchase. Four years later I listen to it all the time. They're not scandinavian metal.
I have been listening to this cd quite a bit, and these German indie rockers know whats up. I've been hitting up some of their older stuff and it's just awesome. I have not a clue what they are up to and if they are up for another album. These guys are becoming a favorite of mine.
If anyone ask me that question, i will say file-sharing is fucking great! Finally, i got this song. Bravo! You're the colour, you're the movement and the spin. (Never)Could it stay with me the whole day long? Fail with consequence, lose with eloquence and smile. I'm not in this movie I'm not in this song. Never Leave me paralyzed, love. Leave me hypnotized, love. You're the colour, you're the mo...
I do this a lot: if a band name sounds like something I wouldn't like, I probably won't listen to it. At least for awhile. While sometimes I'm right to judge a band by its name (examples: panic! at the disco - ucky - hoobastank - ha - she wants revenge - these guys bother me. the lead singer doesn't even play an instrument, they SUCKED at the depeche mode concert this summer, and they are ...
I could not find Consequence - the sountrack of Shopgirl by The Notwist. Anyway i found this stuff which is a remix of Solataire by The Notwist, by Egadz. (djegadz.com). Clips taken from old 50's commercials found on the internet. Its a story about life, love and some square ass people. ... (more)The Notwist A Kid Without Radio "solataire remix"More >
