Happy Friday Kids. I wanted to speak(not really) briefly on Sunday's upcoming release of "What Happened: Inside The Bush White House and Washington's Culture Of Deception" by Scott McClellan...former White House press secretary and loyal Bushie. This has been rampant on the news for two days now, and I must say this is great. I am not sure which part is more intriguing...McClellan who, by coming out with these "secrets" admits to either lying without knowledge of the truth... MORE

I've been hearing good things about England's The Noisettes for a few months now, but all the reviewers seem stuck on the same tired comparison: "Frontwoman Shingai Shinowa sounds like a punk Billie Holiday". Well okay, except can't you do better than that? To me, the band combines a super tight rock and roll sound with Shingai's almost Karen Dalton-like rough croon. The first 2007 release that I've liked so far (Arcade Fire awaits a careful listen), What's The Time Mr. Wolf by the British band Noisettes is an inventive, tight, and pleasantly off-kilter post-punk-soul album. It's their debut, and a little uneven in song material, but quite promising and fun. The vocalist has been compared to Karen O, and the band runs the gamut from Gang Of Four to The BellRays and from jazzy drum fills to big riffs that drip sex. My fave after three l... MORE
